The leaders of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha to take part in the Legislature Parliament meetings

Nov 7, 2015- The leaders of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha, an alliance of four Madhes-based political parties, decided to take part in the Legislature Parliament meetings from Sunday.

General Secretary of Sadhbhavana Party Manish Kumar Suman informed the decision to take part in the meeting was to press for their demand through parliament. “We have already taken part in the PM election process and we also have to join the parliament to fulfil our demands. So we decided to attend the meetings from Sunday, said Suman. Suman confirmed that they will continue their struggle at the parliament and their street protests including the blockade at border points will go simultaneously.

Morcha sources said that the leaders have planned to raise their demands and obstruct the House proceedings. Four Madhes-based parties—Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal, Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party, Sadhbhavana Party and Tarai Madhes Sadhbhavana Party—are associated with the alliance. They have 35 lawmakers in the parliament.

The agitating alliance of the Madhesi-based parties has been staging various protest programmes in the Tarai region for the past 84 days. The Morcha says the constitution marginalises them and has demanded various amendments in it. Their protests have severely crippled normal life in the Tarai region.
